Architect · Founder
Shweta Kaw
Two decades in architecture, from public buildings and large developments to the rooms and objects of everyday life.
Practice
A personal practice, informed by work at many scales.
Shweta founded Studio Meraki in 2018 to work directly with clients across architecture and interiors. The studio focuses on hospitality, healthcare and selected residential commissions.
Her earlier roles on airports, housing, civic buildings and workplaces gave her experience of complex briefs and multidisciplinary teams. That foundation supports the close involvement she brings to each commission today.
Her practice has also extended into teaching, academic juries, and invited talks on cognitive architecture, psychology in design, passive design, and indoor environmental quality.
Building performance
Singapore · 2013–2014
As a Sustainable Design Consultant with DEG Builders in Singapore, Shweta worked across façade performance, daylight and glare analysis, heat-load calculations, efficient lighting and air-conditioning, and Green Mark documentation. This followed an MSc in Building Performance & Sustainability at the National University of Singapore, where she received the Gold Medal for Best Graduate Student. This work gave her a practical basis for assessing the environmental consequences of design decisions.
